We have RDM setup with SQL here at our shop, and most of our engineers are given the add and edit permission - we don't want them to delete entries. Instead, what they would do is move them to a "Z_Delete_Me" folder, and the admins would clean that up every so often, making sure nothing is actually needed.
Somewhere in one of the newer versions of RDM, users stopped being able to move entries, and when we try to drag and drop them, we get a dialog talking about missing the delete permission (or something close to that - I don't have it in front of me).
Do you know if this could be getting changed again in the future so things would work as they did, or is this a new security model and we need to start giving the delete option and use the recycle bin more?
Thanks!
Tom
Hi,
What version do you use exactly? I know that we fixed some issue but I'm not sure about the Move.

Hi David, sorry for the delay. Right now we're on 12.0.8.
Hi,
I remember why we have added the Delete right. It's not avoid that somebody move an entry in a folder where he has all the rights and do something with it that he was not supposed.
What do you think?

That makes sense. In the file world a move usually requires a delete (copy item first, then delete). I'll have to put my faith into the recycle bin and my own backups :)
Thanks David, have a great weekend!
I will enter a feature request to add a Move right. I will check if this could be a solution.

Excellent!
