Getting the wrong icon when assigning a custom Icon in RDM

avatar

Environment:
Windows 10 x64, build 1607
RDM 12.0.5
Local datasource

I'm creating folders assigning some custom icons to organize my entries, but when I browse to the correct file, and select it, RDM puts up a different icon instead?
Attached are the screenshots showing the sequence and the results. The only thing I can add is the Dragon icon is one that I am using for a different folder..

I cannot get the VMWare icon to apply.. but I have a connection entry where I did manage to get it to 'stick'.. (it was the first one I used the VMware icon with.. nothing past that has been able to use it - they all get the Dragon icon).

Could you try with another executable? I want to verify if it's only with vpxclient.exe

You are correct.. if I choose a different executable, I am able to load the icons from those other applications. It is strange because I was able to use the icon from vpxclient.exe in a session entry 1 time, but not since then. I will see if I can export the icon and then import it..

I exported the icon using NirSoft IconsExtract, and from there I was able to change the icon successfully.

Very strange, but thank you again!

Would you mind to send me in a private message just the executable? I don't want to run it so I don't need all the related file. By the way, be careful when you use too many external images. This could reduce the loading data performance unfortunately. This is not the case if you use our built-in images.
