Auto expand child tree when selecting an entry

Our navigation list is made up of Folders of type Group - Company and with there subgroups Site > Virtuals, Physicals, Network devices etc.
I would like to be able to click a Company folder and it automatically expands.
Same for any child folders, on selecting a group, all child folders expand.
It will save me many mouse clicks.
This may already be a feature, if it is how do I enable it?

It's a good idea. I will add this to our todo list.
