Password generation template for all user

Hello,

In Tools -> Password Generator, there is the possibility to create that template;


You simply have to select the desired settings for the password generation and after that you can create the template.

we know how to create password templates.

We would like to know, if its possible to provide a created password template to all users of our RDM from an central point.

With this all colleagues can use the once greated template which is corresponding to our company guidlines.

We have in the entry a setting called password complexity. You could define an entry template to set a specific complexity.

we know about the entry settings, but we also would like to use the RDM as central platform for Password generation.

It woul be great, if a once created template (by the Admistrators) in the Password Generator would be visibly and usable for all users.

Example: I create the Template "COMPANY PASSWORDS" and all other colleagues see this template in the Password Genereator an can use it.

Is this possible ?

i just wanted to ask, if our request was already implemented. If so, I would like to update our RDM installation.

I have already read the change informations of the last versions, but I am not sure if this change has already been implemented.

It's not implemented yet. This is still on our todo list but it should be added soon.

This feature has been added and will be available in the next beta of RDM.

You can create your templates in the password generator (like before) or go in File -> Templates -> Password Templates. From there you will be able to see your local passwords in the "local" tab and your company passwords in the "shared" tab (the "shared" tab is linked to the data source therefor everyone connected to it will have access to these templates).

InAdministration -> Data Source Settings -> Password Policy -> Password Templates you have the new checkbox "Only use data source templates" which will force your users to only use the "shared" templates when checked.
