System.InvalidOperationException: Instance validation error: 'Root' is not a valid value for Connect

We have many customers requesting support on this issue. It is caused by a member of the team upgrading to our most recent release, while the rest of the team is using an older version.

RDM 12 introduces a lot of significant changes, and one of them requires a new connection type.

The fix is either to upgrade everyone to the same version, or to delete the connection that has been created by the new version. Please contact us if you decide to take that route.
