Unable to copy username for any Credential Entry

Unable to copy username for any Credential Entry

avatar

Since updating to 12.0.5.0 I've been unable to copy usernames, but can still copy passwords, for any Credential Entry. Copy passwords is disabled on the Home tab, the top of the context menu (right click) and in the clipboard section of the context menu of any Credential Entry, but does work for other entries that I tested, even if they read their data from a Credential Entry.

Hello,

Is there any information when is this going to be fixed ? (in 12.0.8.0 Copy Username and
Copy Username & Password are still disabled for me).

avatar

Hello Ivan,
It was supposed to be fixed by Hubert. Perhaps it's something. What entry type is it?

It's standard Credential type with Username / Password fields.

I have been using Copy Username & Password feature since forever and last few versions
it's grayed out.

I can also confirm that the problem I've described above is still happen with 12.0.8.0.

Hello,

The ball was in my court because we thought it was a security bug, but whas you describe is just a UI bug. It will be in the next build.

Hi,
the issue is still there when you work offline...
I've an SQL Server as datasource and I work mostly offline, this way "Copy username" is grayed out but active when working online...

Best regards.

EDIT: RDM Enterprise v. 12.0.10.0

For me this issue is there also when working online.

Do you both use RDM beta?

Yes, version 12.0.10.0.
I just edited my reply because I forgot to write it...

Could you try to delete your offline cache the next time you are online?

Regards

David Hervieux

avatar

No I'm not using the beta. Can I install it in parallel with the stable release?

avatar

I've deleted the cache with CTRL+F5 and also inside the "Manage Cache" window, but as soon as I go offline "Copy Username" is grayed out...

avatar

@WhiteKnight

Yes you can use it with the stable version. Just not use the new entry types like StickyPassword

@David Hervieux

Thank you. Just to make sure that I understand you correctly, I can have both the stable and beta client on my PC, so that if there are problem in the beta I can open the stable instead with reinstalling?

avatar

@WhiteKnight

Yes, you can have both version of the application on your computer.

Just download the zip file of RDM Beta 12.0.10.0 and deploy it in a folder like C:\RDM as example. You can download the zip file at the bottom of this page

What type of entry it is? Is an RDP or another type?

Regards

David Hervieux

avatar

No it's a standard credential entry.
When I right click on other types of entry the copy username works as intended.
Below a screen when I'm working offline...

Hi,
We will investigate again.

Sorry about that.

Hello,

We should have a fix out for this issue in the next build of RDM. With the fix the issue can't be reproduced in our environment now.
Sorry about the inconvenience.
