Dashboard Layout options

I love the program but if possible would like to see a bit more layout options on the dashboard view. I prefer to have small icons with text in the tree view but that when you select an group that the icons of the items underneath it are big.
I attached a simple example, reason that I would liek something like that is that this could be use more easily in keyboard only navigation.

Dear David,
I do have two additional questions about this:
- Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate the dashboard? (E.g. with CTRL + L you can activate the treeview)
- Is there an way to start an session from the dashboard? When I activate the dashboard and navigate with the keyboard to a specific entry and press enter, it will try to open the whole group instead of the session selected in the dashboard. Only when I select the entry in the tree view it self I can open it with the enter key?
