Search bar annoyances
Before update to version 8 we used to search for sessions with the search bar and then clear the search bar and the focus would stay on the searched session so we would be in the vicinity of related sessions. Now with version 8 we do the same search but when we clear the search bar instead of staying focused on the session it seems to put the focus at the top of the list. This was a small comfort we used to enjoy and now it does not function the same. Is there a way to revert this functionality?
Another search bar annoyance is when we have a entry in the search bar and we hit the favorite tab instead of clearing the search bar before going to favorites tab it just shows a blank favorite screen since it cannot find any matches from search bar in favorites. We have to go back to all sessions clear the search bar and then go back onto the favorites tab to see the favorites. Small annoyance but still an annoyance.

Hi,
You can disable the Smart Auto expand search in File-> Options (General tab)
This will give you the old behavior.
For the other problem with the favorite, have you tried to put the search bar in the status bar. Again this option is in File->Options (General tab)

Ok i went to Options General and checked the "Disable smart auto expand filter" and as you said the selection does stay on the found session but the it also still moves the scroll bar up to the top of the list and if i scroll down to the previously searched session it is still highlighted. Would there be a way to stop the list from going to the top and keep the searched session in the scroll view so I do not have to scroll down to highlighted session.
I already do have the search bar in the status bar and the behavior is as I described when going to the favorite tab with search bar prepopulated. Is there a way to have the search bar cleared automatically when I switch tabs from all sessions tab to favorites tab.

I have patched the current zip file online with a fix for the scroll down and also a new checkbox to include or not the filter with the favorite
