What can I use 'Macro/Script' for?

Give me general examples on how people use 'Macro/Script'.

Are these like mouse macros?
Keyboard commands?

I do typically go into machines, type commands to check for updates, etc.
I'd really like to be able to do this with another tool and I noticed that Remote Desktop Manager has an option for this.

There's a lot of Macro/Script/Tool that can be created in RDM - https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/macros_scripts_tools.htm

The scripts or command line can be run against a host.
