Hi,
We have two separate instances for RDM at the moment, but we are looking at combining them to the same database.
Is this possible?
For example, use RDM1 as the default database and import everything from RDM2 into the folder RDM2 on RDM1?

Hello,
You can do an export of your sessions in a .rdm and import them in your primary database.
Please consult http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_data_migration.htm for more details.
How many sessions you will have totally after this migration?
If you plan to have more that 5000 entries, I will recommend you to install RDM 11.9.5.0 and user our new feature called Repositories.
With the Repositories, you will have 2 or 3 data sources, however, the data will be stored in the same database. Please have a look at our blog on the subject

Can I resurface this topic, as it is rather old. The doucmentation link is no longer valid. I also don't see a mention of about the private vault and credentials. How would we combine SQL data sources and maintain each users credential entries?
@jamesvoll,
Indeed, a 8 years old topic in the IT world is a very old :)
I am not sure to understand your question or scenario, but here's my understanding. You would like to know how each users credentials entries a handle on SQL Server.
Each users will connect on the database using their own credentials, this means that each users will have a private vault to store their credentials or sessions.
If you are planning to combine/merge several SQL datasources, this is not possible. Each datasource is a single connection to a database.
In conclusion, if something is missing in my explanation, please let me know.

no, i'm curious of the method for combining two different instances of RDM that use separate SQL servers. Our license is split and each user is assigned to a license using only one of the SQL servers.
Adding all the vaults from one to another (including any credentials in those vaults) appears simple enough . . . export/import the rdm file
What I don't see how to handle is getting user vaults migrated over. At the moment it would appear that each user would need to take their own export of their personal vault with their credentials, and then import it back again once they are connected to the other instance
Hello,
Since you are using 2 different databases, it's indeed what's need to be done regarding the private vaults.
Each users would need to export their own private vault and import them on the second database.
