live log view for RDM

Hello,
Is there any way to implement a live log view in RDM? So like a new connectin type, where you define a file path to a logfile with credentials to log on the server and perhaps criteria which defines which entries (lines where for example the word "error" can be found) will be highlighted. Also a function to start/stop the live tracking when a section should be analyzed would be useful.

Just to be sure I understand the log file is a normal text file loaded in readonly?

Yes, correct. The log file is a normal text file loaded in read only.
Our naming of the log files is <date>_logfilename.log, so maybe there also could be included a datetimepicker in a menu strip above to select a date to display a logfile from another day, if the actual logfile is displayed you can watch changes live.

Is it a large file? My concern is the memory usage related to the refresh of the file.

Most of the log files are smaller than 1MB, only a few logs have sizes from 200 to 300MB.
