Hi Guys,
Recently upgraded to Windows 10. I use a Wacom Intuos as my mouse due to RSI issues.
Since I upgraded to Windows 10, and I start up a RDP session that is embedded within RDM, it causes my whole PC to slow down like crazy. Mouse input, text input etc. is lagging behind. Also RDM becomes unresponsive. When not using tabbed functions this issue does not occur.
If I uninstall the Wacom drivers and use a regular mouse this doesnt happen, but then I get RSI complaints again after a while.
Let me know if you need more information.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
Hi,
Could you verify if you get the same problem with RDCMan? We use the same Microsoft RDP ActiveX and I want to verify if it's related to it.

Hi.
Just tried the same with the RDCMan and exactly the same issue occurs there.
Does this mean its something in Windows is causing this issue?
Regards,
Dave
Indeed it seems to be related to Windows and RDP. Do you get the same problem if you open the connection in external mode?

The problem does not occur when using external mode. Also when I fire off mstsc.exe it does not happen. It only happens when I use it tabbed/embedded.
Thank you for the test. It seems to be related to the ActiveX. Could you try to enable the Load plug-ins in embedded mode value? This setting is in the experience tab page of the RDM settings.

Afternoon,
I know it's not best to hijack a thread but this one is a few months old!
I'm just in the process of using this software as a replacement to Terminals but I have awful mouse lag when in embedded mode.
Doesn't happen via Terminals, mstsc, rdcman or in external mode only embedded.
I've tried what was suggested above and set "Load plug-ins in embedded mode" to true from default but still no joy.
I'm running W10 Pro and have tried several connections to Server 2012R2 OS'
Interestingly though I can RDP a Windows 8.1 Pro virtual machine and this works without issue.
Any thoughts?
Nick
Nick,
Could you try to specify another RDP version in File->Options. For example RDP 6.1 just for a test.
For now, I have no explanation. The other thing you could try is the Classic UI in File ->Options again.

Hi David,
Thanks for the response, changing to a different RDP version had no affect but changing the interface to Classic UI resolved the issue.
Is there anyway to get the best of both worlds?
Appreciate that I'm only running the free version but enterprise is a little steep for me working from home!
I just have a lot of VM's for the software setups that we resell :)
Thanks again,
Nicj
Hi,
I know that the Classic UI uses a simpler UI framework. Honestly I don't have a workaround for now but I will check with the third party we use.

This is an old topic but in my case it was solved by disabling "use windows ink" in the wacom settings under the 3rd TAB. See attachment (please excuse the dutch language)
