File Explorer connection delay
When connecting to a network share using the File Explorer entry type using other than "Default" credentials, for some destinations it takes quite some time for the connection to get established.
I've tried this with different network shares and some of them take up to 23 seconds to connect. I'm not sure if there's something on RDMs behalf that can be done about that. However, during that waiting time, the local file resources are displayed but cannot be clicked - RDM is completely unresponsive.
This is rather irritating for most of my RDM users, because they don't know what's happening, start to click around and get frustrated.
Would it be possible to display a "Waiting for connection to File Explorer resource" message in the File Explorer frame?

We have looked into it and it is tricky due to how little control we have over the third party we use for this feature. We'll keep this on our todo list but it likely won't be available in RDM 12.

I've updated to the current version 11.7.2.0 - there's no difference in the waiting time when accessing some specific network shares, takes up to 25 seconds. I guess it's network/windows/domain inflicted. However it would be helpful for the user to get a message that connecting is still in progress.
By the way, I also noticed, that the File Explorer does not remember selected columns when closing and opening the session again. Is it possible to either configure the columns displayed or simply remember the selected columns?

For the selected columns, I checked and we are indeed able to save/load them, so we will add this for RDM 12.

The waiting time and RDM's unresponsiveness when establishing the connection still persists but I guess we'll have to live with that.

Unfortunately it's not something we can do in another thread. We use third party and it's linked with the UI which requires to be executed in the UI thread.
