How to set different security group to shortcut

How to set different security group to shortcut

avatar

Hi,

I'm trying to use the shortcut functionality however I can't find a way to set a different security group for the shortcut.
The help says that you can have different security on the shortcut but when you open the shortcut properties it is just the one session.
If I set the security group to none then it should work but that defeats the purpose of security groups.

How can I set different security groups for the shortcut?

Thanks

Mark

Hello,

For that scenario, you set the security group on the folders containing the shortcuts.

Since our security is inherited, the shortcuts will be applied security based on the context where they are used from.

Hi Maurice,

Thanks for your fast reply.
So to clarify if the security group is set at the folder level, when the security is set to none on the session below it will inherit that security group?
My concern is that when security is set to none that all users can then access the session entry.

Thanks

Mark

Hello,

Yes, the child sessions inside a folder will inherit the security groups from that folder.
