Built-in SSH Shell not available when adding new entry

avatar

When adding new entry, Only Putty and Rebex ssh shell is available.
The type availability for SSH shell is checked and I can later convert a putty/rebex to native.

Hello,

Is it possible that SSH Shell has been removed from the available session type?

Please go in Administration -> Data Source Settings -> Types and make sure that SSH Shell is checked.

I already stated that "type availability for SSH shell is checked"
I have also tried un-checking, saving and re-checking.
I have also just upgraded to the beta and still same problem.

Hello,

If you go in File -> Options -> Types -> Availability, does SSH Shell is checked?

Yes.

Hello,

This is very strange.

Have you tried to close/reopen RDM?

Do you encounter the same issue on another computer?

It has been this way for a long time thru MANY restarts. We have multiple users on shared Azure SQL DataSource. It is happening to all of us. If we switch to a local DataSource we have the SSH Shell option.

Hello,

I am not able to reproduce your issue with a SQL Azure data source.

What version of RDM are you running?

If you click on New Entry and type SSH in the search field, does the session appear?

I was running the latest regular release, I have now updated to the latest beat. Happens the same in both versions. Searching does not show the SSH Shell either.
Could this be a data issue in our datasource?

avatar

I have exported our Azure datasource and imported it into a fresh local datasource. I can add SSH Shell in that local datasource. I still cannot when switching back to my Azure datasource.

avatar

So, I figured it out. Under datasource properties, there is another location to select Type Availability. In that location SSH Shell was unchecked.
What is the relation to these two locations for the same settings?

Hello,

Glad that is now working.

Yes, the settings is at 2 places. In File -> Options, this will disable the setting locally. In Administration -> Data Source Settings, it will override the setting in File -> Options and all your users will be force to use this settings.
