Hi,

is downgrading from Enterprise to Free Edition still supported? If so how, what's the best way to to it? Any gotchas?

Hello,

Please consult this help topic;
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_data_migration.htm

You will have to export your data from the Enterprise Edition and import it to the Free.

For more information regarding the differences between the Enterprise and the free edition, please refer to this page; http://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/FeaturesGrid

The Enterprise Edition offers many more features and advantages than the Free edition. If security is an absolute requirement for you as well as user management, this is not possible with the Free Edition.

Hm, not exactly what I meant (and wanted).

Here's what I did: I copied RemoteDesktopManager.cfg, RemoteDesktopManager.lyt, and RemoteDesktopManager.ext from my existing installation and renamed them to RemoteDesktopManagerFree keeping the extension. That's all: I retained settings, layout and connections.

Hello,

My apologies. This would be the steps described here;
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/kb_transitionfromfreetoenterprise.htm

In your case, it would be the opposite which you did.

If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Hello,

Thank you for the information.

I don't know what type of data source you we're using in the Enterprise Edition, but I've you been able to connect on it properly in the Free Edition?

Jean-François,

I'm using a local SQLite database. I had no problems connecting.
