Username in data source settings is automatically set to last logged on user?

Username in data source settings is automatically set to last logged on user?

Hi,

I'm using RDM 11.6.1.0 together with a DLVS 3.x.

In my datasource i had set the username name field to 'ITS\%username%' which worked fine in the past, i could create an installer package with this datasource configuration and it would keep the %username% intact.

However, since my upgrade to version 16 it seems that the username field in the datasource settings is set to the account that i logged in. For instance, when i set the config to %ITS\%username%, login as ITS\khuizer and go back to the datasource settings the username field shows 'ITS\khuizer' instead of the 'ITS\%username%'.

Is there a way to have the username field be 'fixed' again, or???

Hi,
I suspect that maybe we replace the variables when we export it the data source configuration. I will assign this to one of our dev to verify my theory.

Export? For creating the installer package you mean? it isn't directly related to the export.

If i just start the application, set the username to 'ITS\%username% and exit the data source settings, i then get asked to login again, and when i then go back to the data source settings the username is set to my username instead of just the variable.

Ok,
You're right it should stay with the variable.

Hello,

We looked into the issue and we might have a fix for it. It's a little tricky but we'll hope to have this out by the next minor version of RDM.

We should have a fix for it in the next minor version of RDM.

That's good to hear.

Can you also make sure that that version will be made available from the installer package generation option so I can create new installer packages asap.

Since the problem with the 'translation' of the variable as discussed above we seem to have a number of users that don't see the private vault tab anymore.

Is there a way to 'reset' something so the user will see the/his private vault again?

Hello,

In Administration -> Data Source Settings, make sure that the Disable Private Vault option in the General section is not checked.

That option is not checked, and it's just a number of users that don't see the private vault, and it seems to be correlated with the machine, if a user starts RDM on his own device he doesn't have the private vault logs into our remoteapp farm and starts RDM, he does get the private vault.

Hello,

Is it the Private Vault tab that is missing or the User Specifc Settings that are not present anymore?

What version of RDM are they running?

What version of Devolutions Server (DVLS) are you using?

It is the private vault tab (the tab next to 'all entries') that is missing.

We are running 11.7.1.0 (and some 11.7.2.0) with DLVS 3.1.0.0

Hello,

First, it will be important to upgrade your server to version 3.2.2.0. I will send you a link in a private message to schedule a remote session for upgrading your server. We will also check your settings to resolve the issue if it is still present after the upgrade.

Hello,

@everyone,

After upgrading Devolutions Server from version 3.1.0.0 to version 3.2.2.0, the Private Vault tab reappears and the issue is resolved.

Best regards,
