Sorry for all the post today but I wanted to also follow up on this issue (from another post marked "Resolved") - https://forum.devolutions.net/messages.aspx?TopicID=26186. I still have the problem that was discussed in that thread. Unless I set the “Reconnect mode” option to “FULL” in RDM, whenever I reconnect to a Windows RDP session, RDM doesn’t seem to pass the associated credentials from my password vault to the RDP session that it is reconnecting to. RDM does passes the credentials from the password vault to the RDP session is RDP session is first established. It I set the RDM option for RDP type to v7.0 (versus v8.x or Default), the reconnect feature works like it used to but when I log off of the remote RDP session, RDM leaves the sessions “tab” on the navigation bar (even though the RDP session has closed). I don’t mind switching the option for the default RDP type to v7.0 (so that the reconnect works like it used to), but is there any way so RDM doesn’t leave the session tab on the navigation bar after the session closes?
Thanks in advance,
STGdb
This started to happen to me after latest upgrade.
Hello Magnus,
Could you try to go in File -> Options -> Types -> RDP and set the Reconnect mode to Full.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi,
If you set the option to full reconnect, RDM close and re-open the tab. But if you use the smart reconnect RDM just call the Reconnect method from the Active. This method is only available in RDP7 and this is why you get a full reconnect indirectly. I could check why it does not close your tab with RDP 7 but I think that the solution is to set the option to Full reconnect and keep Default instead of RDP 7?
Does it work this way if not let me know what is missing or wrong?
Thank you

Good afternoon. Just to follow up on this thread, I just updated to RDM 11.9 (aka RDM 12 BETA) this morning. I changed my setting for Reconnect Mode from FULL back to Default (and have the Smart Reconnect option selected) - and it seems to be working now. I've not tested it since we discussed this issue a couple of months ago (so I don't know when it was fixed), but I can report that it is working now (for me) after upgrading to RDM 12. RDM now authenticates (re-authenticates) properly when it reconnects to existing RDP sessions.
Thanks
Thank you very much for the post. I'm glad it works now.
