Using Dropbox without the Dropbox Datasource

The problem I have with using the Dropbox datasource is that I'm not always online and I get the 'could not connect to datasource' error.

Is there any reason I can't just use an XML datasource and store the file in my Dropbox (or Skydrive) folder ??

I don't see any problem except that you should make sure to backup your file in case of xml corruption.
