Hi There!
We are a small IT company that uses RDM in a group of 3 IT people for supporting our customers. We are all domain admins on our local domain.
I have a few machines which belong to ME personally that I have in RDM and I don't have credentials saved because I can't find a credential type that secures credentials to those machines tied to my RDM login (It's not useful to save those credentials to the profile on the computer I am on since I use multiple computers).
I found security groups, but because we are all administrators (I assume) you can't remove the other users from having access to the security group.
Is there a way to block inheritance of permissions, or in some other simple way, allow me to login to RDM from any computer, and have saved credentials work on a select few machines without the other admins getting access to it?
Hello,
The solution for teams is to use an advanced data source, this offers two features to aid in your scenario: User specific settings and the Private vault.
Since you mention security groups, this means that you are already using an advanced data source, so please consult

Hi.
The private vault seems like what I want, however, when I choose Private Vault Search and type in the box, nothing... ?Is it supposed to search? Shouldn't it be a drop down box?
The private vault search will, only upon usage, try to find an entry matching the name you provide.
The workflow that is more "concrete" in its usage is to use User Specific Settings to override the credentials, choosing the exact private vault entry.
If these computers are in the same folder, you can set the credentials on the folder, then set the sessions to use Inherited credentials.
