How do disable bottom filter box

How do disable bottom filter box

avatar

I'm using the classic UI so not sure if it's an issue with regular UI, but when you click on the application the focus is often on the filter box of Remote Desktop Manager so while on a support call I often type into that box, realize I'm typing into nothing (but i'm not really) and then I've cleared out all my remote desktop connects so now I'm frustrated...

Then a few seconds goes by and I realize the program defaults to filter box focus rather than your typical nowhere focus and I'm inefficiently filtering out my connections.

Is there any way to disable this annoying box? I never use it and it's really crippling my efficiency.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
You could hide the status bar. What do you think?

Thanks for the suggestion! I was hunting around in options when I should be looking in View | Layout and I turned off the Footer Pane.

All good now!

I wanted to add that the option to "show filter in status bar" would give me a better solution, but this option does not work with the classic interface.

I've recently encountered another issue with filtering...

So let's say I'm logged into a remote RDP session and doing some work. I hit CTRL-F to search for something within the file I'm remotely working with and sometimes the filter dialogue comes up and since I type so fast, I end up filtering my view and not searching for what I want.

The remote system is still active so I'm not sure why this happens.

Is there any option to disable filtering altogether?

Hi,
This is now customizable in the current beta. Have you tried? You can disable all the filter with the little magnet in the status bar. However this is only in the new UI.

Will it make it into the newer versions down the road, accessible in the classic UI? I can wait until then.

Hi,
I will add this.

Hi,
This is now implemented internally and it will be release in the next beta

Excellent. Thanks David!

I've recently been experiencing this filter box while I'm in entirely different programs on the host computer. I could be typing in Microsoft Word and suddenly the filter box appears in the middle of my Word document! Remote Desktop Manager is running in the background but it's out of focus, possibly even minimized.

I haven't quite narrowed down if there's perhaps another app on my system that's causing this behaviour but the only abnormal experience I have on my computer is a filter box from Remote Desktop Manager.

Have you tried to change the setting in File->Options In the Keyboard tab page, change the shortcut mode for Embedded not focused.

Thank you once again, I will try that. It's not something that's so easy to test since it happens randomly and unexpectedly but I'll update if it happens again...

Hunting for past communications so I can re-configure my preferred configuration and just wanted to thank you for advising me of this solution. I simply disabled "filter" and that resolved my issue. Very strange the program would take focus even when it's in the background or minimized... nevertheless, my issue was fixed so a late thank you!
