Hi I have a stored credential (Username/Password) and am trying to use that for a remote connection. On my RDP connection, I am using the credential repository pointing to my credential entry. In the advanced tab, I configure "Use these RD Gateway server settings: and enter in my server name, logon method to "allow me to select later", click on the Credentials button at the bottom and choose "Use credential sessions" and choose my credential entry.
When I try to connect, I get prompted for credentials. I would've thought that by telling it to use my credentials entry that it would just connect???
I am running RDM 8 with sql server database.
Thanks for your help
Hi
I will try to replicate

Hi
There has been quite a few changes since v6.6 . Can you send me a screen shot of the "Advanced" tab of your entry.
There is now a "Use my RD Gateway credentials for remote computer"
Maurice
Hi
We can make it work for embedded sessions.
Set embedded, use credential repository, set RD Gateway address, enter the credential for the gateway using the Credentials button at lower right
I'd like to point out that this is the first coordinated effort between Devolutions and our new partners Awake Coding for diagnostics! Thanks guys! Their knowledge of the RDP protocol is amazing.

Ok but what if I have a different set of credentials for the RD gateway than I do for the remote computer? wouldn't I want to not check in the "Use my RD Gateway credentials for remote computer"
If I choose Embedded, it will store the password on the actual RDP entry and that is not what we would like to do because then if we make a change, we will have to go back and touch every entry that has those credentials and change it.
Shouldn't Credential Repository just work?
Thanks for your help.
Correct, don't check "Use my RD Gateway credentials for remote computer" in your case.
Set the "Display" to "Embedded" not to be confused with embedded credentials. Display embedded will start the RDP within RDM (using the ActiveX) instead of external (MSTSC.exe).

Hi
And we are still working on a fix for external sessions.

I made it work, our test gateway is set up to require domain credentials instead of generic ones.
Disabling the "Use RDP Gateway generic credentials" worked for me. "Options->Advanced" tab
Can you try it?
