Filter Search Bug - Enter No Longer Opens Session

Filter Search Bug - Enter No Longer Opens Session

avatar

This bug was introduced sometime between 8.0.0.0 and 8.0.8.0. It still exists in 8.0.12.0.

To replicate, I have all panels at the bottom closed except the filter box. When I start typing and either the session I want to open is top in the list, or the only session, I would normally hit Enter on my keyboard to open the session. Now hitting Enter does nothing. I have to use my mouse and double-click the session.

Would you mind you to post a print screen of your main screen? I'm unable to reproduce it for now so maybe we don't have the same settings.

Here is a screenshot of how I'm setup. I use the filter box in the lower left to find the machine to which I want to connect. Hitting Enter used to open the session but it no longer does.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi,
With the same config, i'm still unable to reproduce. Does the up and down work?

Yes, the arrow keys work fine to move within the list of results. An interesting thing I just found is that if I use the arrows to move up off of the selection and then back down to it, I can hit Enter and the session loads as expected. It is almost like the Filter box is not giving up focus where it used to.

Hi

We've been able to reproduce it when the "grab input" feature is disabled (grey magnet at bottom right)

David is working on it and we're close to a solution

Thanks, I didn't even notice that I had this disabled. Reading the documentation it seems like I would mostly want to leave it disabled if I want keyboard shortcuts to go through to the remote session. Am I reading that correctly? It sounds like if this is enabled, the Remote Desktop Manager application will try to interpret the shortcuts rather than passing the keystrokes through to the remote session.

You right about the magnet because it's possible that our shortcut could be conflicting with those on the remote host. We will add soon a shortcut manager to customize the key sequence.
