Hi all,
we're currently using VNC for sharing the console screen to several users. That works okay with RDMs default and UltraVNC implementations, except that VNC is a real CPU hog (on the server) and the session tends to hang whenever there's a glitch on the line.
My question to all of you (i.e. including users) is therefore:
Do you know an alternative to VNC, that
- does screen sharing (aka console sharing)
- reconnects automatically and reliably after a (short) line failure
- does not hog the server CPU
- does not consume too much bandwidth
- and, most importantly, is among the types support by RDM
RDP would be the ideal choice except I don't see how we can share the *same* screen with RDP to multiple users some of them view-only, some read-write. I don't know any of the other types supported by RDM, though, and would be happy to get your recommendations.
Best regards, Thomas.
Hello Thomas,
I know that Team Viewer, LogMeIn and Screen Connect are excellent products. I can also tell you that we are working on our Remote Assistance implementation, but don't tell anyone it's a secret :)

Sorry to resurect this very old thread but with your recent announcement of "Enhanced Wayk Now Sessions on Windows" I'm still unsure whether I can share the same physical session onto multiple RDP clients as VNC would do?
Best regards, Thomas.
Hello,
As far as I know there is no way to do that with RDP.
Sorry about that.
