How do color overrides work for terminal sessions?
I've gone to File > Options > Types > Terminal > Colors
I've checked "Override terminal colors"
I've defined all my custom colors .
In my SSH Shell (Rebex) connection, I've gone to Properties > General Tab > Terminal Tab
Under colors, I have 3 options.
Terminal Using Color
Monochrome
Preset
If I connect using "Terminal Using Color" option, I get a monochrome window except the cursor, which is bright green.
If I connect using "Monochrome" option, I get a monochrome window except the cursor, which is bright green.
If I connect using "Preset" option, EVERYTHING is solid black. Text, background, selections, etc. I see a green cursor blinking, and I can type 'logout' to logout and watch the cursor move. But everything is solid black. You can try to select text but even the selections are solid black. I know text is selected because I can paste the output into notepad and see the login banner and prompt.
So how do custom colors get applied to a connection? The options available don't seem work and the custom colors I've defined are not applied using any of the color options on a connection's properties.
On another note, SSH Shell (Rebex) seems to have a bug where new connections are not focused. If I have a session open to serverA and open a session to serverB and start typing, all my typing is going to serverA session. You have to manually click the new sessions every time to focus the window, then you can input on the screen.
Hello,
The override of the colors will work with SSH Shell session type, not SSH Shell (Rebex).
Please have a look at Hubert explaination here - https://forum.devolutions.net/topic16274-problem-with-putty-and-rdp.aspx?lastpage=1#post91060
