Unable to Open SSMS Add-On via RunAs saved KeePass Cred

Unable to Open SSMS Add-On via RunAs saved KeePass Cred

avatar

All,
I am trying to use the SSMS add-on in the latest version of Remote Desktop Manager and I cannot open the SSMS Add-On using a saved KeePass credential. everytime it keeps giving me:
The stub received bad data
Enterprise Edtion 11.1.0.0 64bit
Win32 Exception

When I put in the exact same credentials using the custom radio button on the runas screen everything opens and works fine. Can someone look into this? Our company is contemplating buying a global site license but this needs to be fixed.

Hello,

Do you encounter the same issue using RDM 32bit?

Running either the 64bit or 32bit yields the same error:

Win32Exception - The stub received bad data

I have an idea what the issue might be. I will get our QA team to reproduce the issue and get back to you on Monday.

Good news, QA was able to reproduce the issue and we are looking into how we might be able to resolve it.

In the meantime, there is a possible work around. I'm assuming you entered the user of KeePass as domain\user. If you modify the user as user@domain it should work. Keep in mind this may affect other session types that use this KeePass entry.

I will let you know when the updated add-on is available.

The fix is done and will be in the next release of RDM. Note: the fix is in RDM only not the add-on .dll so no need to update the add-on.

I will post the download link when it becomes available.
