centrally define credential which is stored locally on each computer

hi!
we want to set up RDM so that all sessions are stored within a SQL database and the credentials within another "Credential-File" which should be password protected and different/personally for each user.

what solutions do we have for this with RDM?

Hello,

This is called the private vault.

but with private vault the credentials are stored on the database server, right?

the requirement is that the credentials should not be accessible by any other user than the user themselves.
thus they can not be stored in a database which is accessible by other users.

Hello,

No one else has access to another user's private vault, the content is also protected by its own salt.

If that is insufficient, you could use any of the external credential management system that we support: Password Vault Manager, Keepass, Lastpass, etc). Each user would have their own, and you would adjust RDM to get credentials from that external system.
