Home and End keys in Putty Shell in RDM
Hi There,
Using RDM the home and end key actions are set to standard (Sames settings as my external putty session). RDM sends Home keys as ^[[H
which works in the standard linux shell. however this does not work with more advanced applications such as VIM. using an external putty session sends the Home key as ^[[1~
Is there any settings in RDM to make the Home and End keys act correctly like they do in Putty's Standard mode?
also the option to change the Home and End key modes from standard to Rxvt does not appear to work.
both settings result in the commands
Home=^[[H
End^[[F
in Putty Standard the commands are
Home=^[[1~
End=^[[4~
and in Rxvt
Home=^[[H
End=^[Ow
To test this when in a standard bash shell press insert, then the function key.

Hello,
If you're using the PuTTY entry type, you could set the "session" to one that already exists with the correct settings that already work in PuTTY.
If that doesn't work, you could try the SSH Shell entry type, there is an option to change the home and end key behavior under the "keyboard" tab.
Can you try these and tell us if it worked?

Yep that did it. it appears that it is the Rebex shell type that was causing the issue.
even though i had selected putty as the session type it defaults to the rebex shell.
Also as i said, the Home and End key behavior change under the Keyboard tab does not work.

It might be an issue with the Rebex component itself, we'll have to take a look at this. Thank you for the feedback.

Are you using the Rebex SSH shell? If so, could you try using the regular SSH Shell? Since rebex is a third party, we don't have much control over fixing the issues found using it.

Rabex SSH shell have Jump Host option with is very important for me. SSH shell doesn't have this option and I couldn't use this session entry. If you add Jump host option I would change my 600 entries.

Thank you for the information. I checked and there is still nothing else we can do to further modify the behavior of the home/end keys in Rebex.
We will see what we can do to add the ssh gateway (jump host) to the SSH Shell entry type.

Thank you for feedback. Please inform me if you add this option to SSH Shell entry type. I have to thing how to update over 600 connections in database.

It will propably possible to change the session type from one to another using our Batch Edit feature, however, we need to wait the response from our engineering department to see if the integration is possible or not.

Hi,
For me it's not possible because I have got very complicated folder tree and all my connections have many informations which probably lost after changing entry type. I had written SQL script to change all Putty entries to Rabex, now it shouldn't be a problem to write similar from Rabex to SSH shell, but without SSH Gateway I can't do that.
