How does integration with Laspass works?

I chose to have my passwords to be stored in lastpass since this seemed to be the only solution which requires 2 FA and still using local copy of database. My question is how this setup works behind the scene? Does each time when password is required RDM goes to credential manager which in turn calls LastPass webservice or something? Does it use caching? Does it work if Internet is not available?

Hi,
We invoke LastPass each time you need to access the credential entry. We don't cache any password and you always need an Internet connection.

Well, that changed not too long ago because we were getting blocked because too many calls were made by RDM. We now cache the vault within RDM but just in Memory, and for the duration of your session.
Still doesn't work if there is no Internet.
