Display properties in main window

Can we have an option to display the connection properties in the main window? I'd also like the ability to edit any of the information in the main screen. Currently, we have I have to right click and choose properties. It sure would be great if I did not have to do that.
If you are concerned about security, maybe make it an option people can turn off.
