Hi,
I looking for the best way to deploy RDM.
We use 5 different DataSource ( DBA, Syadmin etc... )
I know I can create 5 different MSI. Or create only one with the 5 datasource and let choose the datasource at the startup.
There's any other way to deploy?
Also I've an idea for a new options, when you use the option Prompt for data source you are prompt for Data Source Selection add option like alway use this datasource for the next login. Like a one time ask.
Thanks
Hello,
No, either 5 MSIs, or one but they must choose.
The feature you ask for already exists.
http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasource_overview.htm
Look for the section titled "Open data source on startup"
Best regards,
Maurice
thanks
But this is not really what I say about the feature.
If I use prompt for datasource it will ask every time I open RDM.
So what I suggest is when you are prompt for Datasource you select datasource and add an option on the same screen like use this datasource as default.
without going to the 3 points ... and choose datasource.
Another question: I know you can export data source. There's a way like install msi and with powershell or script import datasource?
thanks
Hello,
So "Last used data source", but with a prompt on the first run... kindly post the request on https://forum.devolutions.net/forum17-remote-desktop-manager--feature-request.aspx, this is the best place to submit them.
With Powershell you can create and delete data sources

I do not know if you will be using SQL Server, which would allow you to use Integrated Security, or if you need to have users fill-in their username/password in the data source definition. Juste make sure that they each use a different account in order for our logging and security to work as expected.
Best regards,
