Hello,
I'm using Remote Desktop Manager and it works well except I can't see the remote taskbar of the computers I'm connected to. Sometimes I barely see the top of the taskbar. Am I missing something ? and option somewhere ?
Hello,
Could you post a print screen perhaps we will get a clue on what's could be wrong.
Regards
David Hervieux
Hello,
here are 2 pictures with and without scale activated in the options. One other strange thing : I used Alt + print screen to do the screenshot and did not crop the screenshot. It can be observed that the program thinks its window is bigger than it actually is, we can see part of the host computer taskbar at the bottom, which seem correspond to the missing pixel lines in the application

It's strange. Do you get the same result if you use UltraVNC instead of Default
David Hervieux
Default doesn't work, I'm already using UltraVNC (which is the server used on the remote computers)
Hum, we don't have the control over the UltraVNC one. Could you tell the error you get with the default?
David Hervieux
I get no error, it just doesn't connect after a few seconds, the tab is closed
With ultra vnc standard client, I have no issue though
Could you check the application log in Help? I want to verify if we get an error.

I have this :
[16/11/2015 17:20:19 - 2.0.3.0]ERROR System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Le thread a été abandonné.
à Devolutions.RemoteDesktopManager.Business.HttpBrowserLinker.c36e11a71b2027cacbbca5f70b6ed33df()

à System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
à System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()
but it's thrown before I try to connect
This does not seems to be related to VNC. I will check with our Dev team.

For thoose who could have the same issue, it was due to using UltraVNC in the settings. When using the default vnc application, the cropping problem disapeared
Hello,
I'm having the same problem but I canno't use the default VNC application instead of UltraVNC because it doesn't connect to my clients.
We can't update the UltraVNC engine since it's not our source code but we are about to update the default engine in the next update. Could you give it a try when RDM 11.0.19.0 is release?
Regards
David Hervieux
Hello,
yes of course I understand. I hope your defaut viewer will work in the next update. Do you know when you will release it ?
Regards
The official release will be on February 1st but I could create a beta build if you want to give it a try next week.
David Hervieux
Hello,
that's could be a good point to try with a beta build, because I'm on the trial release and it will end in 11 days. I'm testing your product because my society is interested by your product. We have a lot of client with VNC Viewer so that point should be critical for us.
Regards
Perfet. I will let you know as soon as it ready.

Here is the beta release:

David Hervieux
Hello,
thank's for the quick release ! I have just tested it but our vnc connexion are still not working with the defaut viewer. But I use another solution on rdm which open ultravnc in an external window with the task bar available. And our goal is to stop the use of VNC in the future with our client so the problem will be finally less critical.
thank's for your help. I think we will very soon buy RDM. Is a Linux version on the way ?
This is strange. Could you give me some details about the connection for example the destination OS and the VNC Server version and name? Do you use any custom settings?
We would like to reproduce the environment.
David Hervieux
Hello,
We made new tests on a different client and finally it's working on this one. I think we have some client with a very old UltraVNC server and maybe it's not supported by your default viewer.
By the way, I have some other point/bug to inform you about RDM. Do you want I inform you here or on a new topic ?
Regards
What version was it? Perhaps we can test it and provide a fix. It's better to create a separate thread if you have a different issue. It's easier to do the follow up.
David Hervieux
The version of UltraVNC Server which doesn't work is the 1.0.4.914 for exemple. About custom settings, we start UltraVNC server as a Windows Service, with a VNC password for the connection.
I'll create separate thread for the differents issues
Thank you. We will test it quickly.
David Hervieux
Hi Rudy,
Do you have access to the 1.0.4.914 installer?
Using the only 1.0.4 version I could find (1.0.4 RC3), I have refresh problems even when using the UltraVNC client.
I was, however, able to reproduce the connect error with the default client. I just want to make sure everything is working correctly before releasing a fix.
Jonathan Lafontaine
Hello,
Unfortunatly, I can't find the 1.0.4.914 installer. But I have the installer 1.0.8.2 which is a version also present in some client, but honestly I don't think I already try with it on RDM. If you want it, I uploaded it here : http://www.filedropper.com/ultravnc1082setup
So when you use 1.0.4 as a server and any version as a client on RDM (not the default viewer which doesn't work as you said) are you able to see the taskbar Windows ?
Also, is it possible to add an file transfert solution like UltraVNC with your default viewer. I know you have the Windows file transfert available but it's not possible to use it when client allows only the VNC port.
By the way, is it possible to speak French or is it an English forum only ?
Regards
Hi Rudy,
We prefer to keep the forum in english for the universality of it but you can email us or sent a private message in French. The file transfer is on our todo list.
