Hi,
I have used RDM some time ago. Recently version was updated to RDM Free and database looks like it requires password. But I am almost 100% sure it was configured without password. How can I verifiy that is correct? Is there any option to access database again? I tried reverting back to older version of RDM (currently i have v10). Database is *.mdb file. I tried using MDB viewer and i think i can see some data inside, but not sure if all the data is present.
Thank you.
Hello,
If a password has been configured on the MS Access data source, you would need the password to access the data source.
There's no way for us to know the password.
Please note that this data source type is not recommended since Microsoft has stopped providing support in the newest Windows version.
If you are a single user, we recommend the usage of a SQLite, XML or Devolutions Online Drive data source:
SQLite (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasource_sqlite.htm)
XML (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasource_xml.htm)
Online Drive (http://blog.devolutions.net/2015/08/devolutions-online-drive.html)
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello,
i actually manage to import database again, but.. at least i do not see any reason to such a behavior or i am missing some instructions. I was (am) 100% sure that database did not have any password. And I tried for the last option to create new data source and instead of letting to create new file, i pointed to the existing data source. And it worked, all connections are restored now. I think it looks like a bug, at least to me or some instructions would help on my opinion.
PS: converted to XML after the operation succeeded
