Default Template settings not working for Sub Types - SSH Shell (Rebex) vs Putty (Telnet, SSH,..

Default Template settings not working for Sub Types - SSH Shell (Rebex) vs Putty (Telnet, SSH,..

avatar

When I edit the default settings in the session templates for the "Putty (Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin)" type, it only affects the session object of that name.
It does not affect the subtypes, ex. SSH Shell (Rebex).
If I choose the type Putty (Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin) and change to the sub type SSH Shell (Rebex), it does work.
So we can't really use the "Show sub types" options when selecting a session type.

Hi Michael,
I will enter a bug request for that. I'm not sure how easy it will be to fix for technical reason.

Hi
Was this fixed by now?
I don't see it in the Change History yet:

Thank you

It was fixed but I think it's missing from the change history.

Could you confirm that it work for you?

It actual works in 11.1.0.0
You need to select in the "Default settings" the item "Putty (Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin)" and set your "SSH Shell (Rebex)" settings inside it and it works fine.
In the "Default settings" the item "SSH Shell (Rebex)" do not do anything, I was trying to use it and this is way it wasn't working for me

So if you do a CSV import you need to do:
ConnectionType: Putty (Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin)
SubMode: 2

And if you need create a new sensor from the interface you create a new "Putty (Telnet, SSH, RAW, rLogin)" (not "SSH Shell (Rebex)") and verify it set to "SSH Shell (Rebex)"
