Plz add Sophos VPN,
you can use OpenVPN-settings but sophos client installs in a different folder.
its better to use with rdm because sophos installs with a service and you dont need to start rdm with admin-rights!
i attached you the last sophos-client so you can do tests with it (just copy openvpn-connection & settings, it works).
fyi: anyone can use the sophos-client, you just need to register for free sophos utm-appliance, download it and browse the iso for the vpn-client.
password for zip: Devolutions

I will add a feature request but it won't be in the next two weeks. We have many people on vacation or just coming back from vacation and we need to take care of the backlog.

np
as workaround we can use existing openvpn-entry

Hello Markus,
It's still on my add-on todo list but we have some many features to do. I'm finishing the high DPI support and this was one was a huge project.

David Hervieux
any update?
Kind Regards
Markus

We haven't forgotten but we haven't started yet.
David Hervieux
Hi David,
for Sophos-VPN-Support you only have to clone your OpenVPN-Plugin and rename it to Sophos-VPN.
The only difference is the client-installation-path.
for sophos i have to use: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos SSL VPN Client\bin

Markus

I will ask hubert to do that. Thank you for the tip.

Hello,
Sorry for the delay, I should be able to give you a preliminary version of the add-on for testing early next week.

Hello,
Here is a preliminary version of the add-on. Could you try it out and give us some feedback before we publish it on our website? Thank you.
You can install it by dropping the DLL file in %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager

hi hubert,

the close-session-function of entry do not work.

Does it also work with Sophos VPN? I think there was an issue as far as closing goes with it (looking for the wrong executable). If you do encounter the issue closing Sophos, could you try the version I attached?
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
SophosVPN1.0.0.0.zip
you are right, it doesn't work,
i tried your last attached version and all works now as expected
thank you

We'll publish the add-on to our website soon since it seems to work well. Thanks for the feedback Markus.

Hello,
sorry for the delay and thanks for dll.
Should it work with RDM Free too or is it only for Enterprise Edition?
I tried it with RDM Free 3.0.5.0 (copied dll in ..\AppData\Local\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManagerFree) and VPN opens correct, but it don't close itself. It cannot also be closed with button "Close VPN" in RDM. The only way to close it ist Windows-restart?
Regards
Eugen Hellhorn
additional information...
1. Reboot PC
2. First time: VPN over Sophos VPN SSL VPN Client 2.1 --> OK
3. Close RDP, say Yes for closing VPN --> VPN is closed, all is alright, Connection is closed. Now please wait for 2 min... (to be sure all transactions are finished^^)
4. Second time: VPN over Sophos... --> OK
5. Close RDP, say Yes for closing VPN --> VPN is still opened. Connection is not closed. The only way to close VPN i found was to reboot PC...
So, please try it twice to see VPN still opened...
Hope it helps. Regards.

Hello,
Unfortunately we can't test Sophos itself but we don't encounter this issue with OpenVPN which should work the same way. Did you make sure to download the version from our website rather than this thread? https://remotedesktopmanager.com/Home/AddOn#VpnAddOn_SophosVPN
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
Hello,
I use folowing SophosVPNAddOn.dll (download from your answer 7 days ago) :
Fileversion: 1.0.0.0; ProductVersion: 1.0.0.0; Size: 243KB; Change-date: 13. Dec. 2016 09:13
I think it's the same dll, isn't it?
Unfortunately we have no customer with OpenVPN so I cannot test it with OpenVPN.
Regards,
Eugen Hellhorn
5 minutes ago I deinstalled Sophos AddOn, then reinstall it with AddOn-Manager in RDM and tried it out.
On the second attempt, the VPN connection is no longer closed.
Regards,
Eugen Hellhorn
hi eugen,
you can use openvpn connectiontype along with your sophos vpn - they share same tech.
just set openvpn path to sophos\bin-dir
it's important to hubert if it works then
regards markus
Kind Regards
Markus

Hi Markus,
i did it so as you wrote...
VPN connection works, but it will not be closed.
But with this type of connection, I can see the symbol of Sophos (SysTray?), so I can close connection myself, manually.
It's better then the other way, so I will use it till update.^^
Regards,
Eugen Hellhorn
P. S. we have now 18:07 and I go home, so my next answer will be tomorrow :-)
Thanks for help and have a nice day!
Could you try running RDM as administrator and see if it changes anything? If this doesn't work the only thing I can see is that the name of the sophosvpn process is different than expected. It is looking for any process containing "openvpn" and tries to kill it to close the VPN. Could you make sure the name of the process contains "openvpn" and not something else?
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
Hello Hubert,
it works! Running RDM as administrator lets both of connection types work: OpenVPN and Sophos VPN...
This tip I've read so often in this forum! I am ashamed that I forgot to try it out.
Conclusion:
It works both with already published version, Open VPN and Sophos VPN. RDM should only run as administrator.
Thank you all.
Regards,
Eugen Hellhorn
I'm glad to hear it works :) I should also have thought about this sooner. Thanks Markus for helping out too.

Hubert Mireault
