Remote control other user Terminal Server

Remote control other user Terminal Server

avatar

Dear all,

I really love this software. I have been looking for a Mac replacement for Remote Desktop Connection Manager by Julian Burger for Windows.

This seems to fit the bill.

One thing though, when i want to remote control another user (happens since i am the System Administrator) on one of our our Terminal Servers Windows 2008 R2 it won't let me. It just sits there, freezing the screen. I have to disconnect and reconnect to get back in the server.

But i can never remote control another user.

This works just fine in the Microsoft Remote Desktop 8.0.18 (Build 26163) and every other lower version. I have been using that before i found this software.

Am i missing something (a settings perhaps) or is this a bug, which i think it is.

Looking forward to a reply.

Kind regards

Hello,

Sorry for being confused, but do you experience this from our Mac our Windows Edition?

What version are you using?

Best regards,

Maurice

Sorry for the confusion.

I am using the Mac version 2.5.0.0. locally.

I am connecting to a Windows oriented VMware network.

Ok i managed to get one remote control session working. It seems the majority of time i disconnect a user i am trying to remote control.

When i did manage to get it working and i press ALT + Z (default shortcut to end the remote control session) that user and myself are disconnected from the server.

Once this happens the software crashes. The only way to close it is to force quit it through the Mac Activity Monitor.
CMD + Q does not work and the quit option in the software can't be used.

Please find the error report here, perhaps it can be of use.

Hi,

The guys from FreeRDP were able to confirm the issue https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/issues/2744
They said that you should be able to connect but the process will crash at the end of the session.

There is one more problem. In Remote Desktop Manager, if your are using the sandboxing mode the Remote Control won't work. You can change that setting by going into the advanced tab of each session or by changing the default value in the Preferences menu in the Session Type tab. We will be trying to fix this issue as soon as possible.

The two issues are independent and only the first one is related to FreeRDP.

Thank you for your feedback

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

Good to hear you were able to confirm this.

Sandboxing is sitting default at my end for my sessions.

I just installed version 2.5.3.0, this issue remains.

Offcourse i will keep updating when a new version becomes available and hope for the best.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I always update the software, not at 3.0.2.0. MAC version.

This is still an ongoing issue, well some of it ?

When i want to take control of another user on one of our Terminal Servers the active tab freezes.
The software does not crash or disconnect the user i want to control anymore, that's something :-)

The one last feature i am missing before this is golden.

Hi,

Sadly, this is still an ongoing issue.
This is the next task to complete.

Hopefully, I will have a fix for this as soon as possible
