Hi,
for security and documentation reasons we would like to export our complete (sql) database to a xml file, including all credentials in plaintext.
We plan to print it out and put it in a safe at our bank.
So I tried File->Export->Export Data Entry->Export all data entries(xml)
I selected the Sessions root of course.
It only exports 2 (random) sessions with a file size of 1 KB.
Exporting as .rdm file works fine, but the credentials are encrypted.
Thank you for your help
Hi,
Also on our side, for security reason, we are not comfortable with adding a feature where you can export your password in plain text. That's why this feature does not exists. The export to html does not export session but only data entry (Account, notes, bank info, creditcard...)
David Hervieux
Ok.
Then we will export as a .rdm file if you dont have any other recommendation.
Thank you
edit:
Assuming we have suffered a catastrophic failure of our infrastructure, is there (in theory) a way to decode the safepasswords (from a print out)?
We do of course have several layers of redundancy, backups, ect., but still, would it be possible?
I just made a test exporting our db to a rdm file (3,3mb), then importing this file to a local xml datasource.
Works as expected with credentials intact, just took some time to import.

Hello David,
There's not yet a way to export automatically, for example, using a powershell script? Our intention it's to create a HTML encrypted file, that after the creation of the file, it sends a email telling about the creation of the file, with the location (fixed) and the password created in this job. In this way, we could sync automatically to onedrive or dropbox for example.
Regards,
Germano.
Hi,
It's not possible for now but perhaps I could add a command line that you could automate. This would be for one user, for many users or for backup purpose?
David Hervieux
Hello,
That's for backup only, in the safest way possible.
What type of data source?
David Hervieux
That's a SQL Server Enterprise.
Ok thank you. I will do my best to find a solution soon.
