Hi,
That would be easy. I have entered a feature request and I think André will be able to do that this week.

For the generic vpn, I will take a look too.

Hello,

thank you for the support =)

for a list of profiles you can check the Registry:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Phion\phionvpn\Profile\<NUMBER_START_AT_1>
Key "Description" will hold the session name

avatar

Could you export this registry key and send me an email at support at devolutions.net? I don't think that we will be able to install it. This means that we will need your to test it.

Hello David,

I've sent the registry keys a week ago. Were you able to use them?

André have just finished the NetSupport add-on and he will be on this one next. If everything goes well, you should have it next week.

Hi,

Thank for the information you gave us. We have been able to create a new add-on. It is not tested but it should work correctly.
Could you do some tests and give us some feedback.

You have to replace the dll in "%LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager".
A new VPN will be available "Barracuda NG Network VPN".

Hello,

everytime when I replace the DLL the rdm will remove the addon. When I look in the addon manager i can "install" it, but then it will only install the old version.

Hi,
You have to ignore the add-on manager because you do it manualy. Simply try to create a new vpn immediatly after replacing the dll. The new vpn option should be in the drop-down list.

Hello,
this isn't working.

I've closed rdm, replaced the file and startet it again.

You can see the result in the attached screenshot

Hello,

sry I guess I forgot to save my reply the last time...

It is working fine thanks =)

I'm just missing the credential repository. Currently I have to write all passwords directly into the config and I'm unable to use the keepass plugin

avatar

Hi,
We just released the new Barracuda VPN Add-on.
Could you install it using the AddOn Manager and give us some feedback ?
The credential issue is fixed and normaly you should be able to use KeePass for the username and the local password.

Hello,
I've just updated the VPN Addon via the Addon Manager.
The installed Version is Now 2.3.1.0. However I'm unable to use the credentials manager. The checkbox is grayed out.

Additional Info: In normal cases you need the "server password" and not the "local password".

thanks for your help =)

avatar

Hi,
According to your informations, it is now the server password that is considered for the credentials repository.
If you choose a credential and leave the local password blank (if you dont need it), it should works.
About grayed checkbox, it is normal when a credential repository is selected.

Thank you for your help.

Hello André,

I'm talking about the "Use Repository" Checkbox. It is greyed out so I'm unable to select one.

I've attached a screenshot.

Hi,
Ok now I understand my mistake. I'm used to create VPN sessions separately to select it later. I forgot to check the VPN tab in session settings.
I fixed the add-on and the option you need is now available. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Do you know that you can configure a VPN with its credential only once to use it in yours sessions.

VPN2.3.2.1.zip

Ah nice. I've just checked out the feature with the existing VPN Connection. I didn't knew that you can create a simple vpn only entry also =)

2.3.2.1 is now working correctly. I havn't found any errors yet.

Great !!!
Did you try options "Always ask for server password" and "Always ask for local password" ?

Hi Andre,

I am having problems with the Barracuda Addon.
With a plain useraccount I always get the message "VPN Profile xyz not found"
In the Barracuda client itself the plain user can establish the connection like a charm.
When connecting as local Admin I could establish the connection thru RDM Addon also.

RDM is 8.2 with latest Addon 2.4.2.0 installed.

It seems that there is a problem with the kind of connection via vpn.exe.
When I manually try to execute the command as shown when "show command" is checked in the addon I get the same error.
After invoking vpn.exe without parameter the connection starts to connect.

Just tried to give the plain user registry rights on the phionvpn subkey and everything works fine.
Can connect via vpn.exe and can connect via RDM addon!!

This startetd as a "something is wrong" and went to "I fixed it".
So, if anyone is trying to work with least privilege - give your plain users rights to the subkey
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Phion\phionvpn

I would recommend to Barracuda to code that part according to windows guidelines and either route the part thru the service that is already in place or use HKLM for machine-wide configurations and leave HKU\.DEFAULT alone because this seems to be a real ugly hack.

Thanks Steffen for the instruction. Do you think you could report them that directly? Do you know if we could do something in the add-on?
