A database upgrade is required / database disk image is malformed

avatar

Hi all,
this afternoon I tried to start RDM but I get the message "A database upgrade is required. Connect to the data source with a user with administration right to launch the auto upgrade. database disk image is malformed database disk image is malformed"

So currently I am running RDM 10.5.4.0 (since a couple of weeks), with a local SQLLite datasource. I already searched the forum but I did not find a solution.

So what should I do?

Regards
Carsten

Hi Carsten,

We have encountered this error with the Free Edition of RDM and the solution was to create a new SQLite data source and Export/Import your sessions in this new data source (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/tipsandtricks_data_migration.htm)

Could you try and let us know of the results.

Hi,
thanks for the answer. But how should I export the entries if I cannot access the databse? I can made an export from a backup but then it´s easier to copy the backup datasourcefile back?!? And for your information it´s not the free edition, it´s a global license.

Hi Carsten,

This is strange, you should be able to click on Ok on the error and access the data source. If you have a backup, you can create a new SQLite data source pointing on this backup file if you want.

If you have a Global license of RDM, this mean that you have several users of RDM in your organization. To work in a team environment, we recommend to use an Advanced Data Source (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/datasources_advanced.htm) to centralize your connections.

You can also have a look at the Getting Started for Teams video on our website - http://remotedesktopmanager.com/Support/Video

OK, I will restore it from a backup, but right now I was the only user. Strange. And when the error message comes up I can only click OK and it closes without more information.

OK, copied my backup file back and everything is OK again. One more note. By backup/working db file is 2480 kb, the broken one was only 144 kn.

Thanks and regards,
