credentials not working

avatar

I have saved credentials in RDM (local to rdm.... ie. username/password option). These are local credentials for a machine which is on a domain.

I create two new RDP entries...

A) One session using the remote desktop connection session

B) one session using a template I created a long time ago from remote desktop connection session (with only minor changes from the default rdp session)

I select the same credentials for both but only B connects. A gives a bad credentials error and prompts me to type in a password. If I duplicate the credentials and add a "." in the domain field, I can use this new crendentials to connect to A.

I'm using 10.5.4.0 with a SQL data source.

I tried turning that profiler/debug thingy up to 255 but it doesn't seem to show me anything useful.

Do you have the same behavior in external and embedded mode?

It is the same but I think the found the problem. The new sessions (A) seems to have network level authentication selected by default now. The older stuff doesn't have that enabled. Once I uncheck it, things seems to work better.

Do you know when this change was made to the defaults in RDM? This little issue only seems to present itself when trying to connect with local credentials and there is nothing in the domain field. If I try using my personal credentials, everything works fine, regardless of the NLA setting.

Hi,
I think this was changed a long time ago in version 8 or 9.
