Embedded Browser Can't Detect Other Applications (2X RAS Portal)

Embedded Browser Can't Detect Other Applications (2X RAS Portal)

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to fully integrate the usage of 2X within RDM. I've got the 2X RDP sessions working properly now (thanks to Hubert), but the RAS portal is unable to detect the 2X client when I'm using an embedded browser (Chrome, in this case.) The portal is designed to have an end user log in through the webpage, and in turn it installs/configures their 2X client for them. The page itself loads properly, but it fails to detect 2X is already installed on my machine. The portal only loads in embedded Chrome, both embedded Firefox and embedded IE hang. The 2X Client and RDM are installed locally on my machine, and the portal works just fine in any external browser.

I don't have any public URLs to share, but I can email/message one to someone so they can see the issue first-hand. I'm wondering if this is particular to the RAS portal itself, or if this is a limitation of RDM that can possibly be addressed in a future update. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brent

Hi Brent,

Can you send me the URL via private message to look at it?

Hi Brent,

We added the support to open special types of links like yours. In fact, your website needs to launch an application (handler) to work.

The implementation will be in the next RDM release. If you don't want to see the popup that tell you that you need to launch an application, you can check the "Always launch application on external protocol request" option in the session settings.
