KeePass AddOn and Legal Notices

KeePass AddOn and Legal Notices

avatar

Hi,
I am evaluating Remote Desktop Manager.

I ran in to a problem using the KeePass AddOn.

Most of our servers have legal notices where we have to press OK before we get the login window.
They look like this:

I have created a credential entry i RDM and linked it to a server that has a Legal Notice, and nothing happens when I connect.
I tried linking it to a server that doesnt have a legal notice, and it works like a charm.

Is there someone who had the same problem? Is there a solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Mikael

Hi,
Is it related to the KeePass or the embedded mode?

This is related to the embedded mode I think(?).

I guess your plugin doesnt expect a legal notice to pop up before the login page appears on a server (which you must click OK to continue)

The plugin is working for me on servers without a legal notice.

Is it possible that you can add functionality to the AddOn to press OK on legal notices and then proceed with login?

If you manually click Ok, does it work after that?

Unfortunately, no. Nothing happens after I click OK.

If you don't use keepass, does it help? I'm asking those question to evaluate if we can automate the keypress.

No, it doesn't. Still the same thing.

In this case, I don't know what I could do. Does it work in external mode?

It might be easier if you tested this yourself on a Windows machine.

See http://www.waynezim.com/2009/06/how-to-setup-a-legal-notice-before-login-in-group-policy/ on how to add a Legal Notice with GPO. This can be added on both a domain controller or a local windows system.

Thank you for the link I will give it a try

Mikael,

I'm not able to reproduce the issue.

I've setup a legal notice on our test server (Server 2008 SP1). I've got my credentials in KeePass linked via a credential entry that is then linked to my RDP session. RDM starts the rdp session, once I get the notice I click OK then RDM takes over and completes the login. It works in both embedded & external modes.

Are you having any success on your side? Still need to supply credentials manually?

Hi, smaug. Just wondering if you already fix this problem of yours.

Hi,
I have not solved the issue. Though, I think that the issue is only affecting servers that are Windows 2008 (not R2).
