Hi,
I have 30 or so web browser links in RDM, when i click to open a web page via RDM the page always opens behind all other program windows currently opened. How do I set RDM to make browser windows always open on top or as the active window?
thanks,
regards,
Fulton Zylstra
I have just been trying a few tests and these are my results to the here mentioned problem.
In RDM if web browser Login > Auto Fill is checked and the IDs of the username and password are present, when you click the RDM web browser link via RDM, IE will open minimized or behind other active windows. If the Auto Fill is checked and the ID fields are empty the web browser will open as your active window.
If you uncheck Auto Fill, IE will open as the Active window, but of course you won't have the web site credentials prefilled.
Is there a work around for this?
thanks,

I have entered a bug but for now, I don't have any workaround. By the way, thank your all the details.

I wasn't able to replicate the bug but I've added some checks to force the window to be top most. Please re-test with the next release of version 8.0.

Thank for the update;)

I just upgraded my development machine to Windows 8 and now I can repro, even with the "fix". I don’t think Windows 8 has anything to do with the issue. More investigation is needed.

Got it, if I have the debugger attached I won't repro. Start without debugger it repros every time

How do i start RDM with debugger enabled?

You need Visual Studio and our source code:) However Stefane has already made a fix.

Unfortunately I still have this issue. I did testing and find the same results Blurb has. When I setup a web browser connection it always opens up minimized and behind windows, unless I uncheck Auto Fill Login, which defeats most of the purpose of using this.
I have Windows 7 64 bit. IE 9
What version do you use exactly?
David Hervieux
I just updated yesterday to the latest version 8.2.0.0 and still having this issue, have always had it. It always open up behind all other windows. Yet Putty and Remote Desktop open in front.
Hi,
Could you send me a print screen of your desktop when this happen? Send it to support at devolutions.net

Honestly I really don't know. Could you try to open notepad with a command line session? I want to see if it does the same thing.

Is there a way i can reset RDM preferences to default?

Fulton Zylstra
Notepad opens a the focus windows.
We have 3 users who experience the same problem.

Good News, I just worked out what was causing this issue.
You must have Web Browser application set to "Default".
If you have Web browser application set to "Internet Explorer", bang webpage opens behind.
I have now set my default browser to Internet Explorer, previously it was Chrome.
But, if you have Default set, you do not get the password fields auto filled. :(

This is an interesting fact. I will verify if there something we can do.
