Hi!

I do alpha testing for Image-Line (http://www.image-line.com) as well. Their flagship product is FL Studio.
This company is similar to Devolutions in many ways I think.

I think a lot of their success comes from one offer: Lifetime free updates
It means that you buy a license once and this license is valid for all future versions, without requiring any subscription etc.

It could be a huge selling point imo! When I as a customer know, that I will get every new version for free, I see the license cost more like an investment, rather than operating costs.

Of course you will miss out on money you get from renewals, but that would be made up by more new customers.
I don't know how your income is divided in new licenses vs. subscription renewals, so you will have to make your own predictions.
But it could well be, that a whole lot more users will make the leap and buy the license, knowing they don't have to pay again next year.

Image-Line sees this as a huge selling point.

Thank you Daniel, I will look into it but we need the renewal revenue for long term survival of the company. You know that they don't need to pay next year if they don't want the latest version?

Does this mean that you can choose an option to disable auto renewal of subscription?

Hi,
You can disable the automatic renewal in the ShareIt account. All new purchase have this disabled now.
