It would be great if there was an Auto Hide option for the Session Bar. Such that if you mouse over the left side you will see your tree and could make connections, switch servers etc... But if you moved off of it you would have more real estate for the Desktop of the server.
You have the a good timing. I've just released a beta version of RDM 8.0 and guest what, it's there :)

Awesome to hear, when will this be the prod version.
I am nervous about upgrading to a beta as i use this for work a lot. Combined with my MySQL repository. I know you seem to prefer MsSql, but I don't have that kind of bling ;-)
Do you know that this Beta will accept the MySQL Repository?
You should wait because the mySQL add-on is not supported in the beta. We are currently working on it to give all the SQL Server feature and make it built-in

While it's not exactly a mouse over function, you can configure it to autohide after opening an embedded tab connection. That maximizes the desktop of the remote session. Go to File -> Options. On the Sessions tab, check the "Collapse session list on open embedded" box.
