Hello RDM Team
We have a strange behavior on all our PCs: When we remotely logg into other PCs with Teamviewer, sometimes suddenly the special characters are written incorrectly. (Like backspace etc.) We searched a long time for the cause of this problem and found it today. As soon as we just close RDM, all characters are written correctly in Teamviewer.
To clarify: We use Teamviewer completly separate from RDM, but somehow RDM influences the behavior of how characters are written within teamviewer when running. I'm not quite sure if it somehow blocks Alt+Gr or if it really causes another keyboard layout. (as we use CH-German).
It's also not always, so it's kind of hard to reproduce, but when it's happening I can clearly show as soon we close RDM it's working normally instantly.
Do you guys have any idea, what could cause that?
RDM 10.1.9.0
Best regards
Patrick
Hi,
I don't have a direct explanation but you could try to disable the shortcuts in File->Options | User Interface -> Keyboard
Perhaps of it is in conflict.
David Hervieux
We will test it, next time it occurs.
Hi David
It seems to have something to do with the shortcuts. Today I was not able to use the \ anymore anywhere (not only in RDM!) (with clicking Alt Gr and \) after disabeling the shortcuts it was working again. My colleague had the same problem.
So it seems that RDM sometimes just blocks Alt + Gr somehow, even when it has no focus. There is definitly something wrong.
Best regards.
Patrick
Which shortcut have you disabled?
David Hervieux
Set all of them to none, so I can't say which one. I think it is one of the Ctrl + Alt ones. Will reset all to default and try to disable them only next time.
