I attempt to run the Vsphere Remote connect in RDM and it opens powershell, spits out a bunch of red letters and then closes. I am having a hard time figuring out a way to see the logs since it closes so fast. Event viewer isnt telling me much and the RDM log file is almost 2.2GB (jeez, cron that thing :P). Any idea what could be going on here?
Vsphere 5.5
RDM - 6.3.9600.16415
Ok. So I was able to capture the error and it is the same as this:
https://forum.devolutions.net/topic21168-bug-error-connecting-to-a-vmware-remote-console.aspx
I was able to resolve it by added the trailing whitespace. However I am confused. Why am I asked to add a vm guest?
Can't I just control all my vm's through this option? What happened to the old way of managing?
ie; this: http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/index.html?pane_vmware.htm
Hello,
The console is still there, you have chosen the wrong session type for what you want to achieve. You need the VMware Console, not the VMware Remote Console
Also, have you seen http://blog.devolutions.net/2015/02/calling-all-cars-calling-all-cars-err-vmware-users.html
Best regards,
Maurice
Hey. Gave up on this for a while. Couple things. All the documentation on how to setup vm console are incorrect. The screenshots are all based on the old GUIs. The other issue I have now is that it says the feature is only available in Free Enterprise? Dont you only have Free or Enterprise?
Thanks.
