default.cfg location

Hello,

I found the description on how to overwrite the configuration location:
2. By adding a key in the registry: CurrentUser\SOFTWARE\RemoteDesktopManager, OptionPath. Set the desired path in the key OptionPath. You must not include the file name in the value, just the path.

This seems to overwrite the complete configuration path. Is there a way to only change to path to the default.cfg file?
I would like to place this file on a fileserver with only readonly permissions for the users.

Hello,

Not at this time, the feature is to store the complete configuration elsewhere.

What settings are you meaning to impose on the users? We have a new policy engine coming and most "enterprise" settings will be available to override at the system level.

Best regards,

Hello,

the most important things are Database source and registration settings. But I also wanted to change the initial UI for our users:
- FrmMainWindowState
- ShowDashboardSectionPane
- ShowFooterSectionPane
- SubscribeToNewsletter

Is there a way to hide or disable the "Lock Application" from the File menu? We are using SQL-Server authentication and not every body should have the password for the SQL server account.

Kind regards,
Tobias

Hello,

The licence key can come from the Administration - Data Source Settings, so we'll skip that.

The data source can come from a Custom Installer, a default.cfg file or you can use any mechanism of your choice to overwrite the RemoteDesktopManager.cfg file in the config of the user.

For now, we do not plan add features for admins to impose a certain UI organization to the users, only "enterprise" type settings.

For the lock in the File menu, not at this time. We already have an option for the button in the quick toolbar, I will enquire about that.

Best regards,

Maurice
