Hello Devolutions Team,
we are using version 6.3.9600.16384 by now.
The Host Availability for RDP Connections is working in both, Ping and Portscan but in no way for SSH Connections.
Is there a way this will work or the better question: Does it work by now, and how :-)
Greetings from Munich

Hi,
It should work with he port scan. Could you try the manual port scan tool to see if RDM can detect the connection?
David Hervieux
Manual Port Scan is working, resolving the correct host address and showing right status.
Port opened [OK] on running machines
Not reachable [FAIL] on offline machines
...but host in the tree only gets red on rdp, not on offline ssh hosts.

What type of ssh do you use? Is it Putty or native SSH?
David Hervieux
The native (integrated) SSH

Thank you for the information. I will enter a bug

Thank you and have a nice weekend :-)

Hello Manfred,
Host availability check will be available for SSH sessions in the next version of RDM, which should be out this week. It will work if you choose port scan rather than ping for the checking method.

Hubert Mireault
Perfect, thank you. Port scan is the prefered way for me too :-)

Hello again,
tried to change host availability to PING in fact of faster results instead of PORT.
The problem is on my version 10.6.7.0 that host check via ping shows every host as available even if it is not pingable.
Greets - Manfred
Update: Ping check works on RDP hosts but not on SSH hosts.

Hi,
Could you post the result you get when you manually use the ping tool on the SSH connection?
David Hervieux

Hi,
I will ask JF to reproduce it and enter a bug report for it. I will let you know the result.
David Hervieux
Hello Manfred,
I was not able to reproduce your ping issue with RDM 10.6.7.0 or RDM 10.9.7.0.
If you edit your SSH session and click on the Tools section, does your session is configured to use the default credential or the session credential?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
the default credential
Greets - Manfred
Hi,
Could you try to set one of your session to session credential and test the ping again.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Makes no difference, sorry :-)
Greets - Manfred
Could you export your session without the credentials?
David Hervieux
Hi,
I've made a fix. This should be in the next beta release.

Hi,
just tried out the 10.9.8.0 Beta and it seems to work in this version.
I will do some further tests and give you a feedback :-)
