Clear Current Search - Hotkey

I am not sure if there is one, I can't find a reference to it, however I think it would be useful if you could with a keypress or two clear the current search entered by pressing control F and typing.
Also in the forum, I recommend the new topic link be made more prominent.

Escape clear the current search if the textbox is focused. You can focus the search box by pressing Ctrl+F. For the forum, you can see all the recent post here:

You can use Ctrl + A and then Delete on most occasions.
It's easy: Ctrl-F, Esc
